ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
When you purchase high efficiency GrandAire products, you are making an investment in your home and your environment. GrandAire air conditioners and air handlers use the EPA-approved and chlorine-free R-410A refrigerant, an environmentally sound alternative to R-22, for minimal effect on the Earth’s ozone layer.
Regional Efficiency Standards
The northern, southwestern and southeastern regions of the US have different efficiency minimums for split-system air conditioners.
Your local GrandAire dealer can help you make the right choice for your region.

Understanding SEER

SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is a measure of cooling efficiency for air conditioners. SEER measures how much cooling a system produces for each unit of energy it consumes. The higher the efficiency rating or SEER, the less energy your system requires… and that means lower utility bills and less impact on the environment. Depending on local/state regulations, higher SEER ratings may qualify for rebates.
Understanding HSPF
Heat Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) is the measure of heating efficiency in heat pumps. The higher the HSPF, the more efficient the heat pump. HSPF represents the total heating output of a heat pump during the normal heating season as compared to the total electricity consumed during the same period.
Understanding AFUE
Higher AFUE equals greater energy savings in furnaces. Similar to the efficiency measure of miles per gallon (mpg) in a car, Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency, or AFUE, is the measure of a gas furnace’s efficiency in converting fuel to energy.
Importance of Air Handlers
An important part to complete your new AC system is the indoor air handler. Our models provide exceptional heat transfer for cooling effectiveness and efficiency. We offer four models that are right for the AC you select.
